LET'S GO HAVE SOME FUN! Surf lessons for all levels in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica with a certified, bilingual, Costa Rican with twenty years in the water and more than ten of the last years giving lessons. I would love the chance to share the beauty of my country with you while we tour to catch some waves. I offer private or group lessons, lessons for any age 5 to 95. No previous experience required, just an open mind and some patience.

Each session includes pickup from most accommodations in the area to the break that best suits your level of surf, surfboard, rash guard, wax, leash and instructor. For larger groups there are other certified, local instructors that I have waiting to join us.

If you are an intermediate or advanced surfer let me show you the different breaks we have around the area in my comfortable, 2017 4x4 truck. There are a lot of waves for all levels on the peninsula. Come and learn to surf in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica!

My name is Mauricio Cruz Brenes. I have been surfing for over 20 years and teaching surf lessons for over 10 years. I am Costa Rican. I grew up in the city but once I caught my first wave I knew the beach was where my life would be. I have a passion for surf that keeps me going back for more everyday and I love sharing this passion through teaching and coaching. I am bilingual, (English & Spanish) and certified by the International Surf Association. Sharing my knowledge about surfing, how to read the waves and being safe in the water is all part of a surf adventure with me. I'll also let you in on where to find local great eats and where to seek adventure.

I provide a professional service and because of that I have maintained long standing relationships with highly recognized hotels in the area such as Flor Blanca, Lattitude 10 and Casa Chameleon. My goals as an instructor are to assist anyone, children aged 5 to adults of 95 years to learn, improve, connect with the ocean and have fun pushing their limits. I will help you to create a strong base in surfing if you are a beginner that will point you in the right direction to help you achieve your goals. As an intermediate you will be guided and coached in the ocean to help polish your surfing.
